Call for Industrial and Applications Papers

In addition to the traditional research track, EDBT 2006 will include sessions most relevant to industry and application as well. The Industry and Applications Track of the EDBT 2006 Conference encourages
interaction between academics and practitioners in the industry. The I&A track provides a premier forum for:

  1. sharing novel research solutions to problems of today's information society
  2. exposing practicing engineers to evolving research, tools, and practices and providing them with an early opportunity to evaluate these
  3. raising awareness in the research community of the problems of practical applications of cutting edge information systems
  4. promoting the exchange of information system technologies and experience among researchers and practicing engineers
  5. identifying new issues and directions for future research and development work.

The I&A track solicits submissions covering innovative commercial database implementations, novel applications of database technology, and experiences in applying recent research advances in practice. Submissions should describe innovative implementations, new approaches to fundamental challenges, or major technical improvements over current industrial practice. This track challenges the industrial community to articulate the unsolved data management problems faced by industry. Therefore, submissions are encouraged that expose challenges that the database research community should address more aggressively. The track aims to foster the exchange of ideas and solutions between research and industry. I&A submissions may be extended abstracts which may be accompanied by an appendix to describe some more details for the reviewing process. In the proceedings, however, the papers of this category are limited to a four page extended abstract. The papers must be formatted according to the Information for LNCS Authors.

Papers can be submitted under https://msrcmt.research.microsoft.com/EDBT2006_IandA/CallForPapers.aspx.

Please send the accepted, camera ready papers to lankes(at)in.tum.de, according to the instructions relevant to LNCS publications. Please send a pdf version of the paper and the source files (LATEX files with all the associated style files, special fonts and eps or bib files, or Word or rtf files). The copyright form can be faxed to +49 89 289 17136.
